Samir Jabbour, M.D.

Dr. Samir Jabbour is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in corneal disease, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery. Internationally trained at leading institutions across North America and Europe, he brings together advanced surgical expertise, academic rigor, and an individualized approach to patient care.

A graduate of McGill University School of Medicine with great distinction, Dr. Jabbour completed his ophthalmology residency at the Université de Montréal, where he served as Chief Resident. He subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

His clinical practice encompasses advanced cataract and refractive surgery, laser vision correction, keratoconus, ocular surface disease, and complex corneal transplantation. His expertise includes modern corneal transplant techniques such as DMEK, DSAEK, and DALK, as well as ocular surface reconstruction.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Jabbour has contributed extensively to ophthalmic research and surgical education. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications, held academic appointments at McGill University and the Université de Montréal, and served as Director of the Corneal and Research Fellowship program. He is regularly invited to lecture and teach surgical techniques at ophthalmology meetings worldwide.

Dr. Jabbour also holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard University, reflecting his commitment to improving the quality and outcomes of eye care.

Now practicing at Avenue Ophthalmology on Park Avenue in New York City, Dr. Jabbour believes that exceptional eye care begins with understanding the individual.
